Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Manchester

Salary: £65,000 - £80,000

Type: Permanent, Full-time

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing platform team at a fast-paced fintech company. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on AWS, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring high availability of our production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFront)
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Terraform
• Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation
• Monitor and improve system reliability, performance, and security
• Manage containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS)
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment workflows
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting using CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar
• Participate in on-call rotation for production incidents

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering role
• Strong experience with AWS (certified preferred)
• Proficiency with Terraform or similar IaC tools
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI)
• Understanding of networking, security, and Linux administration
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:

• AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer certification
• Experience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd)
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Redis at scale
• Experience in financial services or regulated environments
